A snappy new sketchblog from fellow comic book illustrator Dennis Culver and myself! Each week one of us picks a comic book super-villain (B and C listers most likely), and each take a crack at redesigning him or her. The link below will forward you to the blog!
I love the Doom Patrol! That's all. No, wait, actually, if anyone can correctly guess which contemporary bombshell (she's an actress) I used as reference for Elasti-Girl, I'll do-up a FREE Doom Patrol commission for that person.
I was axed by my good friend, Riley Rossmo, to contribute an pin-up to his very last issue of Image Comics Proof (with writer extraordinaire Alex Grecian). I wanted to make it extra special as it was the last issue!
Issue #2 hits stands next week -- and it is something else! Looks far superior to issue #1, in my opinion. Click the link below to see a 5-page Preview.
My first ever recorded interview about my series, the Intrepids! There is apparently and outtake to this that is gold! I'll link to it as soon as it is posted.
Found some time on Saturday to draw for fun! More Bat-Villains -- and yes, I did steal Dennis Culver's fantastic Hugo Strange/Adam West mash -- give me a break, I didn't have any reference, and it was an incredible idea!
Just arrived home for the incredible ECCC! So many stories to remember and tell! Firstly, need to start returning emails. In the meantime, my first 'comic book' commission! The nefarious Bat-Villains, the Terrible Trio!
Did someone say 'Variant cover'? Yep, at this year's Emerald City Comic Con in the lovely Seattle, patrons (and Intrepids fans) can get their hands on a variant to issue one of my debut series! And now , for your pleasure, another step-by-step of the creation of that snappy cover!
So after a bit of a tussle with a competing trademark, Kurtis and I decided to change the RAT BASTARDS back to our original title for the series, THE INTREPIDS! Which I am extremely excited about! I redesigned the title and the inside front cover (which is some of my best design work to date). I've posted the process of issue #1's cover (including the original thumbnail idea, which I almost completely forgot about), and I'll post the inside front once the issue is released. But, I'm telling you, that inside front cover is the cats pyjamas.
