October Crisis...

'The October Crisis' was a major historical moment in Canada. Kidnapping, explosions, murder, and just general mayhem seemed to characterize the event. I tried an extremely different methodology in executing these images, with results that I am very pleased with. The first image details the 'bandit' persona PM Pierre Trudeau used to identify the FLQ. The second is the Canadian military occupying the streets of Montreal (still needs some indication of location). The Third is Trudeau's famous 'Just Watch Me' interview. The Trudeau piece is my favorite, but the most positive feedback I received was for the first and second images. I really like the direction this set is taking me.

the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

I was finally able to get my finished Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy collector's box set photographed. This was a major undertaking for me, with some pretty snaz results. I completely designed and constructed the box, which was more work than I will ever care to admit. I'm extremely happy with the box design. Zaphod's outfit was directly influenced by something I saw on a character named Herb Tarlek from the sitcom 'WKRP in Cincinnati.'

Steve Ditko...

Steve Ditko, the reclusive co-creator of such comic book characters as Spider-Man, Doc Strange, Blue Beetle and the Question served as my subject. This was a super experimental piece for me. Aside from illustrating the figure and the text (both of which I am very happy with) everything else was done very randomly in photoshop. I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Charles Addams...

This is a new approach to illustration that I am trying to develop -- sculpture and two dimensional illustration. My piece is based around American Cartoonist Charles Addams (creator of the Addams Family). This is a first attempt that is just not quite right...yet. While I adore the Charles Addams bust, I need to attempt a better integration of the image and the illustration. Anyway.

a couple of illustrations that will reappear in an animation I am currently working on. The animation is for an animated 'Avengers' title sequence (not the Marvel Comics 'Avengers', the 1960s tv show with Secret Agents John Steed and Emma Peel).
